The Google Pigeon update has reinforced that global brands must rethink their global SEO strategies to be competitive among local businesses in the countries they are targeting.

The way to proceed depends on the type of global business:

  • Global brand with multiple branches
  • Global brand that sells their products through local distributors or partners
  • Entirely a global brand operating strictly online
  • Global brand with some local presence: warehouses, training centers etc.
  • Purely a local business with global recognition
